Rejenis was created with the partnership between Dr. Jonathan RT Lakey, Ph.D., MSM, and Wiliam H. Gafford Jr.
Dr. Lakey is a recognized expert in the field of biomaterials, stem cells, diabetes, and islet transplantation and is a globally sought-after scientific speaker, advisor/mentor, and board member within the health science research community.
Dr. Lakey is a Professor Emeritus of the Departments of Surgery and Biomedical Engineering at the University of California Irvine (UCI), where he previously served as UCI’s Director of Research for the Clinical Islet Program and Stem Cell Laboratory in the Department of Surgery. Dr. Lakey is widely published with over 500 peer-reviewed scientific articles, 45 book chapters, and several issued and provisional patents in stem cells, diabetes technologies, and biomaterial applications. His research focuses on stem cells and derived products and has advanced the scientific understanding and applications protocols now used clinically worldwide. Dr. Lakey also serves on Scientific Advisory Boards for several biotechnology companies.
Dr. Lakey co-founded and leads research and product development for Rejenis efforts toward pioneering the refinement and application of ethically sourced human Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) in the regenerative treatment of healing, including skin, scar reduction, nerve, and osteo-related damage in companion pets.
William H. Gafford Jr. is a former Georgia Bank CEO and Director and serves as the CGO and Director of Restor Metabolix (RMX), based in Georgia. RMX offers an adjunct modality that effectively treats diabetes, neuropathy, and chronic diabetic wounds and increases a provider’s medical reimbursements.
